This novel is about a murder in a small town. George who is one of the main characters woke up in a morning, and found there is all the blood in his room and lost all his memory about last night. What was happened? And there are also two police officers in this novel who are the another main characters. They were inquire a murder. Who is the body? And who killed her?
I like this book very much. I finished this novel in a whole night because I could not stop it. I wanted to know who was the killer, and why did he kill the girl. The story is full of suspense, and the end comes as a surprise but make sense. I recommend this book for student who like story of murder and their level are two or three.

A fine history, in the author's stylized but enjoyable voice

How many histories of this sort will I ultimately read? Dozens, to be sure. Each author has another set of stories and viewpoints, and none have written a definitive account (if such a thing could exist, and I'm sure it cannot). Some will see Galbraith merely as a mid-20th century Keynes-friendly author. But he was a very respectable historian reaching into many eras, and only the latter end of the book deals with the Great Depression and its aftermath. The author has a sort of velvet-gloved humor in many passages, which I enjoy; I can see him smiling as he recounts this or that bit of folly. He is most famous elsewhere, of course, for his work on the '29 crash and Great Depression, worth a look as well.

good read for a vacation or weekend travels.

good read. the author is brilliant, but if you don't know that, you'd think he goes through some topics way too quickly (without justifying his position). very entertaining read - he pokes fun (and holes) in many parts of conventional wisdom around money. the author has a sharp wit. he also takes on Keynes & his theory on creating aggregate demand with gov't debt & spending. likely good/quick read for finance and banking folks, but may be found to be a bit boring for general audience. it's a "background" type of book, and not the type of heavily detailed and footnoted book you'd find from Kindleberger. With this book, the author makes the topics available to understand for just about any interested reader, and it moves along quickly.

This is a great discussion of money in all its forms. Econ has never been my strong suit and this book explains many things about money, banking, the Fed, etc. in language that makes it easy to understand. Great historical analysis, well written and with a lot of wry humor. An excellent read and a good reference book.

The book is all that and a bag of chips, too. Your service that is as for as you all celling what you should leaves a whole lots to be desired. this book was suposed to come with a CD-ROM but you did not send it. and now want even talk to me about it. so I do not think you are safe to buy from. I will be passing the word to others about how I have been miss used by your company.

One of the most powerful books I've ever read

I was lucky enough to get a preview copy of this book, and I literally read it in one day. The stories are very powerful with each one better than the previous. Amanda Bracks did a great job getting the deepest of information from the 50 people featured in her book. This book is a perfect read if you're looking for a great pick-me-up, or you need some inspiration from people who are just like you who have proven that you too can get healthier and live a better life. There were 6 stories in particular that tugged on my heartstrings and I will be re-reading these stories often. I recommend this book!

I have to review this book because after reading all the stories it motivated me to join a gym and lose 23 kilos in 5 months and I feel like a new person. The best thing about this book is that it's not like other books that tell you what to do in a boring way, these are stories of real people that have 'lives' like us normal people and tips about how they achieved their goal weight and health. Wonderful and thank you for sharing - you made a massive difference to my life

Fun Read

Jill Gregory is a new author for me. I am enjoying her books and look forward to reading more of her work. Just a word to clarify something said by another reviewer about the historical accuracy of the novel. In 1806, during the First French Empire, nearly 1/5 of the active nobility of Napoleon's First Empire were of the old nobility. The rest of the titles he made up and many of those titles still exist today. The Regency Era in England was a boisterous time of war, technological advancement and changes in social mores. Bastard children of the nobility in
England were, from time to time, recognized and supported specifically by their noble parent and occasionally legitimized to inherent titles, although that was probably not entirely legal. If they were royal descendants they were often given nominal titles. It was Queen Victoria who banished bastards and absolved fathers from the responsibility of caring for illegitimate offspring....It was the law that bastards were to be supported by their fathers until maybe 1834 or 1835. This perhaps didn't apply to the peerage as the peerage seemed to be exempt from most laws unless the issue was forced in the House of Lords. The Nobility of France and the Nobility of England, while often related through marriage, had a different social structure both in the old system and the system that was created by Napoleon. Being the bastard daughter of a Duke may have been better than being the daughter of a farmer on the British social scale, or maybe not. This is a work of fiction. Even the best works of fiction use situational premise in ways that are....fiction...If you want historical fact beyond the parameters of a story take a history class.

this was excellent!

I don't know when this book was written. It seems like I might have read it before...but oh I would read it again in a heart beat. Great characters. All of them. The madness of the villian was well supported and very convincing. The obtuseness of the hero was irritating but it drove the story line. The leading female character had more wisdom than an 18 year old should rightly have, but it so well written I believed every bit of it. Great story, full of twists and unexpected turns.
Good thing I had my tissues handy, though, because there were parts that made me cry. But most of it I just enjoyed. Very much.

Oh my goodness! I have read works by this author for years and she never fails. Took Forever After with me on vacation in the Bahamas. (Toes curled in the sand kind of read.) This story is heartwarming and wonderful. When I stay up all night and lose sleep, you know the storyteller has a gift. The story centers on an orphan girl with horrible circumstances and is thrust into an Earl's world totally alien from her own. The magic begins when she helps heal his family. Murder, treachery, suspense, action and adventure abound. Don't leave home without it!

Comprehensive, colorful, well-organized...

Here's a great book for an Intro to Mass Communications or a Journalism 101 class. It's vivid, full of great illustrations and it provides resources for further exploration.

One issue: This book's focus is Britain. The BBC is their main example for network tv, all money is in pounds and most ads they analyze come from UK media. American teachers and reader should definitely check out a copy before buying, let alone assigning it.

A basic for any mass media student

Altough I have not being able to go deeply into the book I had the oportunity to make a fast reading of it at my school's library. I am a mass communication student at one of Mexico's best universities and I have had the chance to go into many books about the subject. But this one is very speciall because it covers all the main topics from the subject in a profound yet comprehensible way. This book really goes from the basics (how to call the diferent shoots in a picture for example) to some other not that popular subjects (as Semiotics). If you are interested in the media and it's languajes, behaviors and ofcourse the way it is studied, this book is definitively the one you are looking for

I really enjoyed this book!!!! The series keeps getting better and better, The cover is absolutely delicious. Seth and Morgan are one of my favorite hero/heroines, and there are really great love scenes!!!!! I cant wait to read more of Ms. Laurel's series The Blake Boys.

I love Seth and Morgan! I am so glad that their story is continued which is a rare find. Usually it only glimpses the couple instead of a full story. The story picks up directly where book two left off. I cant wait to see whats going to happen to the other Blake boys. Especially Tate!

My only complaint is I wish the stories were longer!

About the Author
Barbara Weiden Boyd is Henry Winkley Professor of Latin and Greek at Bowdoin College, where she teaches courses in Greek and Latin languages and literatures, classical mythology, the city of Rome, Ovid s influence and reception, epic poetry, and other classical topics. She received her PhD in Classical Studies from the University of Michigan, and is the author or editor of several scholarly books and numerous articles on Latin literature, especially the poetry of Vergil and Ovid.

This is the perfect text for AP Latin in high school or for any college course! Containing all the passages relevant to the new AP Exam and a great deal more besides, this is the most user-friendly Virgil text on the market. Boyd gives clear definitions of obscure words and explains difficult passages, provides a foldout vocabulary list of the epic's most high-frequency words, and explains the references in the text which, while understood by Virgil's original audience, are often obscure today. This text allows the student to actually read and enjoy the Aeneid (arguably the greatest epic poem of antiquity...apologies to Homer who is Virgil's only rival) without constantly resorting to a dictionary or an index of proper names. I will be using this text with my upcoming AP Latin class. It is no small thing to create a text as well suited as this one to the needs of students who can learn to appreciate the inestimable beauty of Virgil. I also highly recommend the teacher's guide for its excellent literal translation and questions for in-class discussion. The growing number of schools dedicated to the Classical curriculum, and any institution offering Latin, will find in this text a welcome ally in making Virgil accessible in our time. Macte!
