Makes You Rethink

This is the greatest book for thought provoking that I have ever read since the Holy Bible. I have been reading the Bible for over 10 years, noting and studying the vast knowledge and information available to those who seek it out. I keep telling people, "Just read the book"!
Napoleon Hill's book has a similiar effect. His study on humans who succeed and why takes you to a new level of insight into positive thinking and helps you grasp insight into the availability of a higher universal intelligence. Wow! It will take all the negativity and procrastinating thoughts and dump them in the trash barrel along with lack of faith in yourself. No educational seminar or college course can pack in this much knowledge if you will "Just read the book"!

I have many of Mr. Hill's books and find all of them to be very educational and useful. This one is no different. I was in the process of buying one book, then saw this one (that is a compilation of 3 books) and bought it instead. It is great. I would highly recommend this or any of his books to people interested in personal development and motivation.

i first read this book many years ago and have read other books with a similar content.I have since become a millionaire.The book is not really about money,greed or taking advantage of others.it is about positive thought,being a better person and understanding.

i highly recommend this book as a must read.it stands out above all other books as the godfather.indeed ,it is my belief that all other motivational and success books are based on this one.this is the original.the bible.! Your Magic Power to be Rich!

I've had the pleasure of knowing David Mason, D.O. for many years. I treasure this book because it allows me to have a quick reference to viscero-somatic reflexes. I think the sacral dysfunction chart alone is worth having the book.

Great Resource!

Excellent source! This book gives you ICD9 codes, helps you distinguish between 2 minute, 5 minute and extended treatment plans. There are general technique explanations as well as a thorough explanation as to which techniques help with the most common ailments eg asthma, chf, or depression.
Wish I had bought this book earlier in my med school career as it is instrumental for clinical years.

Mathematics for IIT-JEE is a concise guide of mathematics. This text explains the properties of maths by introducing you to the facts first, and then allowing you to perform the various algorithms and operations more confidently. This text explains the big picture in a schematic diagram fashion of the great mathematical engine. The element of uncertainty is for novice students a barrier to comprehension and diminishes self-efficacy; This text book will not waste your time. Many other texts send you on a wild goose chase searching for key elements tolling you with hours of mere searching. With this textbook it is time stop searching, and start doing; Take command of the maths and have a sense of personal control over what you are working with and know with certainty what it is that you are working with. Overall there are no mysteries just facts, and after all, time is precious in the human life span and time is short in the race toward success. If you need help, this will definitely be your treasure.

Miss Cozy Brown, proprietor of a bookstore that specializes in rare and hard-to-find African American titles, goes to sleep one night knowing that something magical is about to happen. She finds herself drawn again to the yellowed manuscript that her grandmother bequeathed to her, Children of Grace, a slave narrative by a woman healer who died long before abolition. Despite its unsparing accounts of cruelty and abuse, hope shimmers from its pages, and the book can only be described as a love story with prophetic overtones, much like Redemption Song. It closes with the promise that slavery will end--the author of the manuscript, Iona, reads the future in the stars--but that true freedom will only come later. The next morning, as Miss Cozy suspected, two strangers are waiting for Black Images to open. They both need a special book, something life-transforming, and their hands fall at the same time on Children of Grace. Miss Cozy glances up as the couple approaches the counter. She "watched these two, as she'd watched so many others. She knew that they had no idea how their lives were going to be affected. Other folks had come to her shop thinking that they had been led to the bookstore because of their own intuition. But she knew better. This was her purpose, her calling: to help others unfold the chapters of their lives by reading between someone else's lines."

Some of what happens to Fina and Ross when Miss Cozy takes them under her wing will not surprise readers. But as they leaf through Children of Grace together, drawing strength from the story, they uncover Iona's "Recipe of Life," with its powerful and remarkably personal message. Comedian and inspirational speaker Berry (Sckraight from the Ghetto) makes a tear-tugging fiction debut with this slim romantic fable about connections across generations. Neighbors Josephine "Fina" Chambers and Ross Buchanan meet serendipitously when they reach simultaneously for the only known copy of a slave woman's journal at a celebrated bookstore devoted to works by black authors. Proprietor Cosina Brown, Miss Cozy to her friends, refuses to sell the valuable book to either customer, but she suspects each has a legitimate reason for wanting it, and convinces the two of them to read it aloud to each other at her shop. The story may hold keys to issues in each of their lives: Fina has buried herself in work since her father's death two years earlier, and is unable to sustain a relationship. Ross, an anthropologist specializing in urban myths, wants to prove the narrative is more than a legend and come to terms with his troubled past by unearthing a tale of enduring love. As Fina and Ross read the diary, with Miss Cozy hovering nearby, the saga of slaves Iona and Joe, separated by circumstances, unites the trio. Written by Iona, who was granted the gift of spontaneous literacy, the diary tells of familiar indignities and injustices of slavery. It concludes with the account of a tragedy, but Miss Cozy's psychic insight leads her to believe that the end of the diary is not the end of the story. Her powers of perception bring the trio to a spiritual affirmation of love and what Miss Cozy calls a Recipe for Life. Berry's premise is interesting, but the rapid intimacy between Fina and Ross strains credulity, as do the frequent coincidences that advance the plot. This first novel from inspirational speaker and author Berry (Bertice: The World According to Me) is a modern love story with a spiritual base centered on the black experience. Ad executive Fina Chambers and anthropology professor Ross Buchanan are after the same item in the Black Images bookstore: a slave woman's memory book, known as Children of Grace. Since bookstore owner Miss Cozy senses something special about these two, she has them read the manuscript to each other and joins in herself. The revelations of this trio are interspersed with sections from the memory book recounting slave Iona's rape, torture, and murder and her undying love for fellow slave Joe. Berry has clearly poured her heart into this smooth-as-silk paean to black love, so a bit of preachiness at the end can be forgiven. While the message is intended for the African American community, Iona's charge--"to love, to forgive, to never forget"--is applicable to all.

I simply loved this book. I could not put it down. Very rich themes about African American history and culture. It was a quick but unforgettable read. I would love to know more about the main characters' love story after the adventure with Ms. Cozy.

I chose the rating because while it was a good read, other characters could have been developed more fully. I enjoyed the story line but the ending seemed rushed and left me hanging, less than satisfied.

Truly Redeeming, Inspiring. I couldn't put it down!

What an awesome read! I couldn't put this novel down until I was finished. The next day I had to read it again and share it with others NO MATTER where I am. I've emailed, called and wrote family and friends to tell them about Bertice Berry's truly redeeming book and how blessed they will feel during and after reading it as well. The story shares and shows the obstacles that "true love" can overcome even in slavery. The love that Joe and Iona shared is inspiring and makes you ache for them. The lessons and blessings that Miss Cozy, Ross and Fina come to share touch the very core of your being. This story encourages you to do 3 things: look within yourself, find truth and know your true purpose.

Gary Easthope is an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Tasmania, Australia. He has eclectic research interests and has published books, book chapters and articles on education, social research methods, ethnicity and health, disability, the wilderness movement, drug use and alternative medicine.

Emily Hansen is a Research Fellow in the School of Medicine at the University of Tasmania. Her research interests include medical sociology, medical anthropology, general practice and primary health care.

Prince 'Jide Adetule is a Management Specialist, a Public Relations Practitioner, a Professional Banker and an Author. He was born in Erijiyan? Ekiti, Nigeria to the family of His Royal Highness, Oba Amolese Adetifa Ajako Adetule of Ogbegun Ruling House. He obtained his first degree in Business Administration from the University of Lagos and Masters of Business Administration from University of Nigeria, Nsukka. He also has a certificate in Advance Public Relations from the Nigerian Institute of Journalism, Lagos. He is a member of several Professional bodies among which are the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, Nigeria Union of journalists and the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria. He is a member of the Nigeria? Israeli Associations. The author, a prolific writer and columnist of contemporary issues is widely traveled. Amongst his hobbies are traveling, tourism, gardening and making friends. He is married to Princess 'Bola Adetule, also an author and a career pedagogue. The marriage is blessed with three lives, Prince Richard Adetule Jr, Princess Rachael Adetule and Prince John Adetule Jr II.

Compedium of Management Theories

The Handbook on Management Theories written by Prince Jide Adetule has a total of 120 pages and ten chapters easy to comprehend. Chapter one deals with the evolution of Management from the humble beginning in the garden of Aden and some workable definitions. Chapter two centers on the Universal School of Management and some notable contributors like Eric Fayol, Robert Owens, Max Webber. It further simplifies the school into two, the classical and scientific theories. The Human Relations theories and authors in Chapter three believe human element in an organization is a key factor since machine cannot do the job. There need to take care of human capital in order to maximize output. The fourth school is the Scientific School propounded by the Mathematicians. The Scientists bring their own knowledge of science into play in management, which is basically to aid Management efficiency. The System School forms the nucleus of Chapter Five. The School believes all parts of a system work together harmoniously for the overall objectives of an organization. Chapter Six is All depends or Contingency School believes there is no Management style that is best suited to all situations it all depends. You must have heard of Total Quality Management (TQM)? This book concisely brought our some elements of TQM. Lastly Chapters Eight to Ten talk of Business System, Concept and Leadership respectively.

One remarkable thing about the book is that is easy to read and the list of bibliography shows the level of research the Author has done in putting the book together.
