About the Author
DAVID FLETCHER, MBE was born in 1942. He has written many books and articles on military subjects and, until his retirement, was the historian at the Tank Museum, Bovington, UK. He has spent over 40 years studying the development of British armored vehicles during the two World Wars, and in 2012 was awarded an MBE for services to the history of armored warfare.

I throughly enjoy reading David Fletcher's books

I throughly enjoy reading David Fletcher's books. Full of facts and a little humor mixed in as well. I'd given this a five rating but many of the photos are quite small and the color drawings are a mixed bag. Some are wonderful renderings while other could have been omitted all together. If you're into British tank history don't pass this one up. I did note some confusion on ordering this book some sites way this is only a Great War tanks while others say 1914-1939. This book covers the light tanks to 1939. Looking forward to 1940-1945 Battle Tanks if David is working one one.

This book provides a good, general overview of Britain's first tanks. It was a little thin on information about the battle of Flers-Courcellet, which was my primary interest. The book only had a couple of pages about that engagement.

This was by far the best pretest that I have seen all year

This was by far the best pretest that I have seen all year. The explanations are practically on a level with UWORLD and were very helpful for review during the last couple of weeks in the clerkship. The questions are relevant to the topics you will see covered on the shelf and fill in the small gaps left behind by UWORLD. I would highly suggest buying this book. For the shelf I used First Aid Step 2 CK (all of the sections except pediatrics, ob/gyn, psych, ambulatory, and emergency), UWORLD (all IM questions), and this book and I scored a 98 on the shelf.
